On the evening of Thursday, January 11th, MWL is pleased to present “Meeting Myra: A Celebration of Inspiring Women Lawyers.”  For this event, Hamline University Legal Studies Professor Leondra Hanson will offer remarks to illustrate ways in which both present and past women lawyers have used their skills and knowledge to forge ahead on issues of concern to women in the profession. She will highlight her remarks with stories about Myra Bradwell, Charlotte E. Ray, Martha Angle Dorsett, and their contemporaries.

After her remarks, Professor Hanson will moderate a panel of some of the courageous leaders who have been past recipients of Minnesota Women Lawyer’s Myra Bradwell Award and get their insight and advice as modern agents of change. MWL is pleased to welcome the following esteemed panelists:

2015 Honoree: Judge Pamela Alexander, Fourth Judicial District
2014 Honoree: Cheryl Thomas, Executive Director of Global Rights for Women
2006 Honoree: Judge Wilhelmina Wright, United States District Court - Minnesota
2004 Honoree: Judith Bevis Langevin, Partner at Langevin Lentz LLC
1991 Honoree: Aviva Breen, former Executive Director of the MN Commission on the Economic Status of Women

MWL has also extended a special invitation to all past award recipients to join us that evening, in recognition of their inspiring leadership and service to the profession.

We hope you will join us in the New Year to recognize MWL’s Myra Bradwell recipients, as you network among legal community leaders and participate in a thought-provoking and uplifting discussion.

Please register by Tuesday, January 9th, 2018.

Refreshments will be provided during the evening. For more information, please contact MWL Executive Director Debra Pexa (
