The Minnesota Women Lawyers Equity Committee is pleased to present Non-Profit Board Service:  Governance and Ethical Considerations for Attorneys.  This seminar is part  of a continuing series of events and initiatives offered to further promote and support women attorneys into leadership positions throughout the legal and greater community.

MWL is pleased to welcome an esteemed panel of speakers:

Jacqueline Dorsey, Hvistendahl, Moersch, Dorsey & Hahn, P.A.
Archana Nath, Fox Rothschild LLP
Emily Robertson, Robertson Law Office
Moderator: Elizabeth Patton, Fox Rothschild LLP

Non-profit board service provides attorneys with a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on their community, as well as gain invaluable leadership skills and experience. However, non-profit service also presents attorneys with unique professional and ethical considerations.  During this seminar our panelists will provide an "eyes wide open" overview of non-profit board role and responsibilities, and share their own experiences as board members. Topics will include common legal issues that come before non-profit boards; general governance and ethical considerations; how the rules of professional responsibility apply to nonprofit board service; and questions all attorneys should ask before agreeing to serve.  With this essential information, attorneys will be best positioned to make informed decisions about their non-profit board leadership service.

Upon the seminar's conclusion, attendees also will be given the chance to meet representatives from several area non-profit organizations and learn more about potential leadership opportunities.

Special thanks to our seminar host:
